Shaun is a native of England where he played semi-professional soccer for 7 years. He attended the University of Central Lancashire where he began his coaching career with the First XI and youth organizations in the area. After completing his Bachelors Degree he traveled to the United States to work for a national coaching company in youth soccer. He worked with two companies for a total of 4 years, eventually establishing himself as the Assistant Regional Director of Coaching for Southern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, with UK Elite Soccer Inc. During his time there he trained the Mid New Jersey Select ODP, State Cup finalists 1999 - West Windsor Cyclones and three flight 1 travel teams, as well as coaching at UK Elite’s indoor School of Excellence for advanced travel team players.
After moving to South Florida in 2001 Shaun coached at the American Heritage High School in Boca Raton. In 2002, he began training three of South Kendall’s girls teams, before being appointed to the club’s first full-time Director of Coaching in 2004. Shaun is now responsible for the coaching education and player development within our program from U-6 through U18. He brings with him a wealth of experience at both the youth and collegiate levels.
Coaching Philosophy
Shaun feels passionate that the game of
soccer is played in the way it’s intended, simple yet
attractive, disciplined yet creative and always passionate. He wants the game
played in such a manner that, win or lose people walk away having had FUN. He
looks for players to respect each other whilst striving to achieve their goals
through teamwork. Shaun is looking to ensure that foundation skills are
continually strengthened and built upon through dedication to the individual
player and team.
His motto is ‘If you’re not working for your team-mates your working against them’
