SOUTH KENDALL SOCCER CLUB (SKS)

REFUND POLICY

GENERAL:

It is the mission of SKS to promote and make access to soccer easy and fun. Traditionally, SKS has started accepting registrations for the fall season at the close of the spring season games. It has been an unwritten policy that SKS would refund any registration fees collected if a player/parent wanted to play somewhere else or decided that soccer was not for them.

Growth and expanded seasons require that a refund policy be formalized. This new policy will encourage early registration and maintain flexibility and not penalize those that thoughtfully register early. The difference in operation of recreational teams and competitive teams require different policies for each type of player.

Note: Where the term "full refund" is used, it refers to that portion of the fee remaining after preparatory expenditures have been made on behalf of the player. For example, a state registration fee is paid for a player prior to a refund request. This fee is not recoverable by either the player or the club. This fee is required to be paid to the state on a fixed time schedule and cannot be held back for registrations made after August 1, of a seasonal year. The state registration carries over to any state affiliate for the seasonal year the player registers.

RECREATIONAL PLAYERS

    1. Early registered and regular registrations can receive a full refund if the refund is requested before a period of two weeks prior to the first game.
    2. Early registrations and regular registered players will receive a refund less the cost of the uniform and state registration fee if it is requested within two weeks of the player’s assigned team’s first game.
    3. After the first game there will be no refunds.

COMPETITIVE PLAYERS

Due to the nature of competitive teams, expenditures and commitments are made at irregular intervals requiring a formula specific to competitive players for refund requests.

    1. Early registered and regular registrations: For a full refund the request must be made before the player attends four practices, or plays in any game officiated by an assigned referee. (IE. Match scheduled against another registered team, including sanctioned or unsanctioned tournaments, league games, or in-house season) less state registration fee and uniform costs.
    2. The cost of the uniform will be deducted from refunds if refund is requested after issuance of a uniform.
    3. After the first game there will be no refunds.
